Ten Killed in Russian Missile Strike on Northeastern Ukraine
A Russian missile strike on the northeastern Ukrainian village of Pechenihy killed at least 10 people and injured 17 others on Tuesday, Ukrainian officials said. The attack struck a busy central area near a post office, shops, a café and residential buildings, causing widespread damage and setting vehicles and structures ablaze. Emergency crews wer
e seen searching the scene and treating the wounded. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the strike and vowed that Kyiv would respond. Ukraine’s Prosecutor General said preliminary information indicated that two Russian Banderol cruise missiles were used. There was no immediate comment from Moscow on the attack. The strike comes as Russia and Ukraine continue to intensify long range missile and drone attacks, with civilians increasingly caught in the escalating violence.
